Tour of the Gila, Stage 3: Tyrone Time Trial

Tyrone, New Mexico – Circuit des Ardennes International winner Jhonatan Narvaez was best for the Axeon Hagens Berman Cycling Team in Friday's Tyrone Time Trial at the the Tour of the Gila.

Narvaez, the reigning Under 23 Ecuadorian time trial champion, finished 15th in the 26-kilometer race against the clock. He was 1:39 off the winning time and moved from 25th overall to 14th with two days of the race to go.

Evan Huffman (Rally Cycling) unseated teammate Matteo Dal-Cin as race leader by winning the time trial in record time. Huffman's clocked 33:07, 25 seconds faster than runner-up TJ Eisenhart (Holowesko-Citadel Racing Team) and 33 seconds better than Nigel Ellsay (Silber Pro Cycling), in third.

Axeon Hagens Berman's Christopher Blevins, who wore the "best young rider" jersey after Wednesday's opening stage, finished 24th, 1:55 back. He is 18th overall. Other finishers for the Under 23 development team were: Chad Young 38th, at 2:42; Michael Rice 43rd, at 2:58 band Edward Anderson 61st, at 3:42.

Saturday's Stage 4 Downtown Silver City Criterium begins at 4:15 p.m. MDT. Riders will complete 40 laps of a rectangular four-corner course that is 1.74 km in length.
