Eight returning riders from last season's record-setting Axeon Hagens Berman Cycling Team will join eight newcomers when training camp for the world's leading cycling development squad officially begins Monday in Southern California.

General Manager Axel Merckx will lead daily training rides and team meetings as his program convenes for a ninth consecutive season. Also on the agenda for the 10-day camp in Calabasas are photo and video shoots, media interviews and morning yoga sessions with lululemon athletica ambassador Ted McDonald.

Last year, Axeon Hagens Berman won a team-record 36 races, including eight national titles and three team classifications. All 16 riders took to the top step of the podium while contributing to a team-high 84 top three placings overall.
