Redlands Classic, Stage 2: Narvaez Finishes 11th

Oak Glen, California – Jhonatan Narvaez climbed from 22nd to 14th overall at the Redlands Bicycle Classic on the strength of his 11th-place finish Thursday.

The Ecuadorian Under 23 national time trial champion was part of a small group that arrived 1:36 after the solo stage winner on the summit finish in Oak Glen.

Taylor "TJ" Eisenhart (Holowesko-Citadel presented by Hincapie Sportswear) rode into the overall lead by taking the stage win. Rally Cycling's Emerson Oronte and Brandon McNulty finished second and third, respectively.

The heat took its toll on six laps of the 22.5 km circuit in the 151.7-kilometer race. Other Axeon Hagens Berman riders and their results: Christopher Blevins 20th at 2:54; Geoffrey Curran 28th, 3:56; Jonny Brown 58th, 11:42 and Michael Rice, 122nd at 18:57.

Friday's Stage 3, the Highland Circuit Race, is 20 laps of a course totaling 93.5 kilometers. It begins at 11 a.m. PDT in the city of Highland.
