Promising youngster Will Eaves is the second Australian signee set to ride for the Hagens Berman Jayco Cycling Team starting in 2025. Will joins HBJ from ARA Skip Capital.
“For me, joining Hagens Berman Jayco means I am taking another step in the right direction for my cycling career and one step closer to achieving my dream,” said Will. “I had some setbacks last season as my appendix ruptured about four months ago. I missed out on the second half of the racing season, including racing in Asia. Because of the surgery and recovery, training was a challenge and it ended up extending my offseason.”
Will’s Palmares:
7th place 2024 U23 Time Trial nationals
9th place 2024 U23 Road Race nationals
3rd place 2013 GC Tour De Kyushu
1st place Youth classification 2013 Tour De Kyushu
2nd place 2023 Trans-Himalaya Cycling Race
The 20-year-old from Ridgley, Tasmania (the island located just below Australia’s mainland) considers himself a GC rider and climber, but would like to develop his sprinting skills to become more of an all around rider.
“Will is a really strong rider with ambitions to become a GC rider,” said team owner and director Axel Merckx. “He is showing resilience and strength after last season considering the complications with appendicitis. Based on his testing and numbers, I think he has a lot of potential, he just needs to get a little bit more experience. Hopefully he can get that experience with us.”
Will is the fourth rider added to the Hagens Berman Jayco Cycling Team’s 2025 roster after Wil Holmes, Jesse Kramer, and Daniel Moreira.
