Team Jayco AlUla men’s UCI WorldTeam is pleased to confirm its continued growth with the addition of a men’s development team in 2025, the well-established UCI Continental team, Hagens Berman Jayco.

Run by Axel Merckx since its creation in 2009, the team has long been considered one of the best in the men’s peloton for developing young stars of the future. Current Team Jayco AlUla rider and Vuelta a España stage winner Eddie Dunbar is an alumnus of the squad, as are former GreenEDGE Cycling riders Lawson Craddock and Sam Bewley.

Hagens Berman Jayco will continue its longstanding commitment to developing riders for the WorldTour, but will now officially partner with Team Jayco AlUla, providing riders with a formal pathway to the WorldTour.

Jayco has already been a co-title sponsor of both squads since 2024 and several riders from the Continental outfit have been able to gain additional experience riding for Team Jayco AlUla as stagiaires during this season. For the first time, from next year the development team will be brought into the GreenEDGE Cycling family, allowing for closer ties between the two rosters.

It is another huge milestone for the Australian squad, which was established in 2012, in nurturing fresh talent after the creation of its women’s development team Liv AlUla Jayco in 2024. The organisation now boasts four teams with its men’s and women’s WorldTour rosters plus two Continental squads to give promising young riders a place to flourish.

Brent Copeland – Team Jayco AlUla General Manager “We are thrilled to be able to call Hagens Berman Jayco our official development team. Axel has done an incredible job in building the team over the last decade, which can be seen by the number of riders that have passed through and become stars in the WorldTour peloton with victories in the biggest races.

Growth and helping to develop the next generation has always been important to GreenEDGE Cycling and Team Owner Gerry Ryan and by having Hagens Berman Jayco now part of the GreenEDGE family is something we are all very proud of and it will provide a junction, a clear pathway for riders to envisage, a stepping stone into the WorldTour.”

Axel Merckx - Hagens Berman Jayco General Manager We are grateful to Team Jayco AlUla and owner Gerry Ryan for belief in our program and their commitment to the future of cycling. We are excited to find a partner, alongside Hagens Berman and Steve Berman, who shares our passion for rider development and nurturing the next generation of talent. With this partnership, we’re excited to build a stronger foundation for success and continue shaping the future of the sport together.
