The Hagens Berman Jayco Cycling Team continued its tradition of developing young riders from Portugal with the addition of Daniel Moreira for 2025. Daniel joined the squad from Willebrord Wil Vooruit Juniors.

“Joining Hagens Berman Jayco means a big change in my life as an athlete, much more professionalism, and ultimately a dream come true,” said Daniel.

The 18-year-old from Viana do Castelo, Portugal doesn’t describe himself as a pure sprinter, but rather an explosive rider, one that is also very capable on small climb finishes. For the upcoming season, he hopes to improve in all of his abilities as a cyclist and to grow as a person.

“Daniel comes to us from our associated junior program, Willibrord Wil Vooruit,” said team owner and director Axel Merckx. “He has won some nice races and has quite a good punch. I’m excited that he is joining the team and that we are able to continue to develop riders from Portugal, something that I think we have been rather successful in doing.”
