Artem Shmidt was the first signing of the 2023 season joining the Axeon squad from the Hot Tubes Development Cycling Team.

“It was obvious that Artem was a great signing for the team,” said owner and director Axel Merckx. “Not only is he a great rider and athlete, but he has a great personality that is a great add-on to the team. He’s probably one of the best American riders out there right now and we’ll continue the journey and development of cycling in the US together. He’s a great asset and I’m thankful he’s with us another season.”

“The best thing I’ve learned so far is that it’s a long season, so I gotta manage the form and motivation well to not run out early,” said an optimistic Artem. “My highlight last year was winning Stage 1 of Istrian Spring Trophy in Croatia. I’m excited to start the season with the new Axeon Jayco boys in Rhodes.”
