Christopher's Story

Words: Chad Childers Stripes Date: 10 March 2018

Christopher 1

How do you immediately impress your new teammates? How about popping a wheelie and leaning down to kiss your front tire – all while doing it from a completely standstill?

The BMX-turned-mountain biker-turned-road cyclist showed his promise in 2016 with his overall victory at Course de la Paix Juniors ("The Peace Race"). He snatched the lead on the queen stage and kept it through to the last day. A week later, he was back on his mountain bike, earning a runner-up finish before winning a World Cup event in Alsace, France. Last year, he added cyclocross to his repertoire and earned his first U23 national cyclocross title.

So what type of two-wheel racing does he prefer?

"That's a hard question to answer," the reigning U.S. U23 national mountain biking champion said. "Nothing beats slowing down a single track. But putting it all together with your teammates on the road is also super special."

Blevins looks forward to continuing to improve in 2018 as well as getting more experience in bigger races.
