Edward's Story

Words: Chad Childers Stripes Date: 10 March 2019

Edward 1

The path that Edward Anderson took to reach the Hagens Berman Axeon Cycling Team took him from the rough-and-tumble single track of mountain biking to the smooth ribbon of highway that is domestic road racing.

Last year he earned strong overall finishes at the Amgen Tour of California and Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah placing 4th and 5th in the youth classification respectively. Anderson also tested his ability at the Belgian Waffle Ride in San Diego, California. He completed the 133 mile, part gravel ride with 12,000 feet of elevation gain in second place, just 10 seconds behind World Tour rider Peter Stetina.

Now in his fourth year on the team, Anderson is hoping to take everything he learned in his three years as a U23 rider and work with his teammates to make bigger impacts this season.

“Considering everything, this season I am most looking forward to the times that I will share with my teammates and staff and the results that will come from our combined strength as a team."
