The 2016 UCI Road Junior World Champion, Jakob Egholm, is returning to Hagens Berman Axeon for his sophomore season.
“I had followed the team for several years and had always dreamed of becoming a part of this awesome group of people. I couldn't think of a better place to develop as a cyclist and person.”
The 20-year-old considers himself a versatile rider who can compete in different terrain. “I think it's due to my past as a mountain biker where I learned to deal with all kinds of parcours,” said Egholm. “I consider that my strength.”
Looking forward to the upcoming season, Egholm’s main focus is to “stay consistent throughout the season and then make some results together with the team,” he said. “I think we have a lot of cool races on the program, but if we get invited back to the Tour of Yorkshire, that would be my highlight.”
