Hagens Berman Axeon finalized its 2019 roster by welcoming William (“Liam”) Holowesko to the team. The then 19-year-old rider joined Axeon from Hot Tubes Development Cycling Team.
“Joining Hagens Berman Axeon had always been my goal since I first started racing,” said Liam. “A lot of my former teammates, who have had a tremendous impact on my life, joined Axeon and I have always made it my goal to race with them again. Joining the team had nothing to do with proving anyone wrong, but instead proving those right who have always taken a chance on me and never given up on me.”
The Nassau, Bahamas native is a two-time USA Junior National Time Trial Champion and three-time Bahamas Pro National Champion (twice in the TT and once on Road in 2018).
Now into his fourth year on the team, the adept time-trialer, all-arounder, and natural leader is looking forward to “improve more off the bike than on,” said Liam. “I'd like to add more balance to my life, make sure I am pushing myself in other ways than just cycling. Make sure that I keep my identity and don't lose track of who I am. I think doing this will only improve my ability on the bike.”
